Team Tag
Two teams, one big screen, a phone in every hand. The chasers have to tag every single evader before the horn. One survivor is enough for the evaders to take the round.
What you need
- One shared screen: a laptop, or a TV with a browser, at quadchase.com.
- Two to six phones, one per player. No app and no account; each phone just opens a link.
- Ideally the same Wi-Fi for everyone. It works across networks too, with a little more delay.
Setting up
- On the big screen, open Quad Chase, press 2+ PLAYERS and choose TEAM TAG.
- Everyone scans the QR code with their phone camera, or opens quadchase.com/join and types the four-letter code.
- Each phone gets a colour and a button. Tap your own button to switch sides until the teams look right.
- The host starts the match from the big screen.
The rules
- Chasers win a round by tagging every evader before the clock runs out.
- Evaders win a round if even one of them is still free at the horn.
- Sides swap every round, so everyone plays both.
- The first team to two round wins takes the match.
- Your personal tag count carries across all the rounds, so there is still something to play for in a round your team is losing.
The kit
Everyone gets the same fixed kit, so nobody has to read a skill list before playing:
- Evaders carry two dash charges. Rings on your disc show them refilling.
- Chasers drop a snare wherever each lunge fires. Ringed in that chaser's colour, it slows any evader who drifts over it to a crawl for a moment.
- One orb at a time: SPEED (a three-second boost), SLOW (chills the other team) and SHIELD (eats one tag), which becomes OVERTIME (+4 seconds) when the chasing team takes it. Each orb's ring wears the colour of the team it belongs to: take your own, or run through the other team's to smash it.
Tips
As the chasing team
Spread out. Three chasers chasing the same evader is the most common way to lose a round: the other evaders just stay away. Pick one each, or have one player herd evaders toward the others. Lay snares in the lanes evaders like to run through, not on top of them; a snare behind a block catches the evader who dives round it. And take the SHIELD orb when it appears: for your team it is four more seconds.
As the evading team
Split up. The chasers need all of you, so making them chase in different directions is half the battle. Don't bunch near a teammate who is being chased. Keep one dash for the lunge you can't step out of, and watch for snares: a ring in a chaser's colour on the floor is a trap.
