Join a game

Someone is hosting Quad Chase on their screen and showing a four-letter code. Type it here and your phone becomes your controller.

Or skip the typing: point your phone's camera at the QR code on the host's screen and tap the link that appears.

What happens next

1. Your phone connects to the host's screen. This takes a few seconds; on a slow connection it can take a little longer.
2. In Quad Royale and Team Tag you get a colour and a pad. In Team Tag you pick your side by tapping your button in the lobby.
3. When the host starts, drag anywhere on your phone to steer, and tap the button or use a second finger to dash.

Hosting a game yourself

Open Quad Chase on the biggest screen in the room (a laptop, or a TV with a browser), press 2+ PLAYERS and choose a mode. The screen shows a QR code and a code for everyone else. The ways to play together page explains each mode, and the Quad Royale and Team Tag pages have the rules.

If a phone can't connect

• Check the code. Codes use letters and numbers that can't be confused with each other, so there is no letter O or number zero.
• Same Wi-Fi helps. Phones on the same network connect straight to the host. A phone on mobile data, or a network that keeps devices apart (common on guest and hotel Wi-Fi), is passed through a relay instead, which works but adds a little delay.
• Keep the host's screen open. If the host's browser goes to sleep or switches tab, the game stops answering.
